Not all G-sync compatible monitors will give you the gsync experience. I've had issues even with gsync certified asus model.

You don't have to buy a gsync monitor anymore, Nvidia supports most freesync monitors too. You can Google "Nvidia Freesync Enable" to find it, or this link can help (if SD doesn't block it) ...

Good to know thought Nvidia G-sync was an actual hardware addition like H265 hardware encoding/decoding chip in newer GPU's. So just software like Freesync so no wonder there's so much confusion....
