The link is pretty clear. You specifically have to ask for battery service. I've done it with the original airpods myself. And even if you couldn't get them to do it, $138 is cheaper than $250.

Agree completely -- which is why I have the Anker for now :) . Though with $30 applecare you get a free replacement for battery failure so it would be $250 for around 2-4 years of use.
