Win10+ A title games = uses almost 16gb. I tested . Its almost at the edge.. Its better to get 32gb in my opinion. But if you use word and chrome only, 8gb is enough.

hmmm, this seem like an average deal to me. I see team 2x16 on amazon for 110. If this was premium brand like corsair, samsung, crucial might make sense. G.Skill used to make some pretty fantastic...

Lol, creative work is one area that can. 32gb is easily gobbled up editing video or doing motion graphics in After Effects. The latter can even benefit a good bit from 64 vs 32. Once I snag a laptop...

If gaming is primarily executed on the GPU as I suspect, then CPU ram timing won't affect it much. Thing is, Tensorflow Deep Learning only uses the GPU for number crunching large matrices, so...

Well, if it is a difference in mhz it would matter but CAS is meh. There is no real world difference unless you have some crazy setup, then you would not be using slow 2666 memory in the first place.

Is this the right ram to upgrade an old 2012 macbook pro? Or is it the wrong mhz?

Depends on your motherboard.

Ah, crap. you're right, DDR3 only. Man, ddr3 is just as pricey as ddr4. Are there even 16gb ddr3 sticks?

I would say 16GB is more comfortable level. Chrome is memory hog... especially if you use with dual screen. I would pretty much go on 16GB

I've never had a problem with G.Skill memory, be it Ripjaws or Sniper or Trident. There are other brands in the same ballpark of price, though.

Unlike the other offerings these are true speeds, the jedec is altered to make sure it happens since many laptops won't allow you to use XMP.
