Nespresso pods taste much better than generic pods. A close 2nd is Peet’s. Plus Nespresso always have new special edition or seasonal pods which provide a variety.

Nespresso’s stance is that the pods don’t technically expire and that the aluminum keeps them fresh indefinitely (around ten years is a figure I’ve heard), so you can definitely still use them.

My new machine tells me when to run the descaler, but I'd say maybe every 3-6 months depending on how much you use it. You can buy the 2 pack solution for like $9 from Nespresso.
