That's a pretty slow CPU for that much money. The low end screen doesn't help either.

They were using this absolutely abominable screen before covid. Run away, unless you want it to drive an external screen/projector.

This is actually like $150 more than 650 because you need to buy a decent IPS screen to replace that nasty TN screen....bleh!

I like the specs; can the screen issue be overcome by adding an IPS monitor?

Is the soldered memory just to keep you from upgrading or is there some legit reason?
Post #138738170 added 07-13-2020 3:03 AM by goibhniu in Deal Talk
There is absolutely no excuse for having soldered memory on a 15" laptop, unless it's something super-thin like the LG Gram. Not only that, but who offers an Intel laptop these days without TB3? ...

I think this would be more than enough for your business needs. Like you said, the mediocre display is not a big deal since you’ll be hooking it up to a dual monitor display.

One look at that TN panel and you will regret buying it. It's one of the worse TN panel I seen. I used to flip $200-300 laptop and I seen my fair share of cheap TN panel.

Yeah, but good luck finding it in the United States anywhere. There's a fair number of 4700U options, and even the 4750 (8C/16T), but if you want the extra GPU power of the 4800U then you are SOL.

It would be a great laptop if you plan on using it with an external monitor, as long as you don't plan on going 4k. Just note that the HDMI port is 1.4 so you are limited to to 2560x1440 @ 60hz, 4k...
