This is not an argument to make to not pick up the current Intel-based machines. Early adopters of the ARM machines will essentially be early beta testers for something that will surely take a...

16GB i9 is actually $2400 on Amazon currently. And then when you factor in 5% back on Amazon (Prime VISA) it’s really $2280. So $2280 for 16GB vs $2849 for 32GB.

Desktop Intel isn't going anywhere. It will be years before the user experience will be the same as it is with Intel. And remember how bad Windows ARM systems failed years ago. They were clearanced...

Price is almost 4 fold of a 4700u laptop.

This is a decent price. I find it a bit funny that people fall all over the same laptop with a slower i7 processor, half the drive space, and half the RAM at $2000 — but get it up $850 more and act...

Comes out to a little over $3,400 ish after tax and Apple Care (always get the AC on these big machines). About $400 more than what I paid for my 16gb ram model. I'd pull the trigger on this one...

How is this a deal!? If you buy $3,000 laptops then you shouldn’t come to slickdeals.

Savings some money on a $3k laptop is worth it. Even the $300 is a nice savings to put towards extras you may want; dongles, docks, software etc

The person who buys this probably doesn’t commute to work.

Definitely agree. Especially considering that the apple silicon ARM based MBP is on the horizon. My 2013 MBP can hold for another 6 months just fine :peace:

You pay a premium for quality, but at this point I'd rather have a new gaming laptop every 4 years then a MacBook pro every 8

Seriously. I would have jumped on this before WWDC, but I don't really need a MBP upgrade. My 2015 is still running smoothly because I got 8 GB when 4 was the base. More a want so I can get TB3 and...

Post #138876731 added 07-17-2020 9:00 PM by erthian in Deal Talk
No, I asked for a similar laptop. Like I said, theres more to specs than the stuff people have tunnel vision for. Some of use are willing to pay a premium for that. And thats why we buy Macs lol. So...

so on amazon, this laptop (but as a 16gb Ram version) costs you $2500 ($300 savings from msrp). If ram is important to you, this deal is almost the same exact spec except you're getting 32gb ram for...

I usually would feel the same about new products, but do you think Apple would compromise their big gamble without extensive trials? I doubt it. My guess is the next MacBook Air will be A12Z since...
