Purchased the game. Went out and bought a USB game controller. Lost the internet, and now when I load up Steam again all the games show up on the steam system but when I go to play the Mega drive...

If it's true that you can extract the ROMs, you could copy to a Linux machine and use an open source emulator.

There are some really great games from the Genesis' later years that are in this collection that you may have overlooked. I think Gunstar Heroes and Vectorman are good examples of side scrolling...

Not sure if worth since the only games I recognize are sonic and streets of rage... Since I mostly play on a PC, I may just stick to emulators..

Steam installs the game on your pc and they are playable offline as long as you set steam to offline mode and the game doesn't require an internet connection.
