it's likely the OEM version which needs to detect a Sabrent SSD not the enclosure. as mentioned that does allow most features except Universal Restore.

I recommend buying a few different brands and testing the data transfer speeds. Some of these external enclosures are slow. Not sure about the speed of this brand.

There's m2 SATA & m.2 PCie. Both look like Wrigley bubble sticks. The SATA has 2 small prongs, the PCie has one prong & it's transfer speed is much faster compared to the SATA.

Generic TRIM commands might work but you cannot use any other driver with them beyond the generic one. NVME drives that have drivers designed for them generally don't belong in generic enclosures....

some mobos only have one nvme slot, this allows you to clone your current drive via usb. if you have nvme's lying around, this is a way to make a superfast usb drive, which is great for os installs....
