Data Transfer Rate: 120 MB/Sec Similar situation here. Works great for me on a WD 4TB non-portable drive. This is bigger (5TB) and smaller (2.5 vs 3.5).

I'm afraid you were mistaken on when this rebate/sale ended. It was through 8/30 not 8/31. Looks like their current price ($114.99) is through 9/20. I'm sure it will go on sale again after that.

Bought and returned this, it's too slow. Good thing I tested it with non personal data before actually using it. I was averaging 21 mb a second.
