It basically turns into a jack stand once you lock it in place and remove the hoses. It's either simply legal BS, or a CYA for people who might do something dumb like lift elsewhere on the car.

Also if anyone is curious, all models come with the same exact pump setup. The 3.5k, 5k, and 7k quickjacks have different physical jacks but the pump is the same. Bought one of these a few weeks ago....
