Most games wouldn't come close to needing 32gb, though that can change in the future. Quick googling shows star citizen could be a memory hog, though it says recommended specs are 16gb.

sounds like you may potentially have extensions that are eating up some memory. I just run adblock, and running 10x 4k Youtube videos eats up about 2.1gb.

If you are only going to overclock/xmp to 3600 at cl16..just grab a known 3600mhz cl18 kit for cheaper. You can tighten timing to 16-18-18-36 or better in most cases.

For gaming purposes, anything over 16GB is a waste for better performance. If you are running Virtual Machines or other things that need dedicated memory, then no.
