Yes, they are getting thinner and also degrade much faster that what they used to be. However, they are great for airbnb rental since we have to provide a new one every time new guests come in.

If all you've ever known are cellulose sponges, so have never tried a foam sponge (e.g., Lysol), I recommend giving them a try.
