I don't have an iPhone so I'm not positive, but it looks like you just need an adapter and the Files app on iPhone. You should check with someone from an Apple store or another iPhone user though.

You could also get one of the external SSD's listed here. They're pretty small as well. There was this deal just last week. It's super tiny. Just get a USB-C to Lightning cable and you're solid.
