This is a great price! There are some things parchment paper really does work best for- including the cloche style baking of bread in a hot dutch oven...and lining the pan for fudge/caramels, imho....

What is the purpose of parchment paper in iron on transfer kits? Google tells me it's an optional step in some and that you can do it again after each wash but doesn't say why.

While the silicone mats do some of the same tasks as parchment paper, they are not a full replacement. You can't line the sides of a cake pan for instance. Can't cut them into custom sizes.

This size is superior to the smaller 8.5 x 11 sheets that come with iron on transfer kits. Nothing worse than having the iron slip off the sheet and melt the transfer. Of course, good for baking too.

So a similar price to these deals yet you have to deal with having a massive box of them in your home. For a home cook the small boxes seem better.
