Well then maybe this set isn't for you, but I suspect most of us prefer a magnetic bit holder so we can easily swap bits. Hardly "useless".

You're supposed to put the short bits in the bit holder, not directly in your drill chuck.

If you have drywall, no, a screw will go right through with no issue. If your walls are plaster (unlikely if you live in a house that's under 50 years old) then you'll need a masonry bit to drill...
