The reason people use this in motorcycles is because it DOESN'T have friction modifiers. Normal car oil has the friction modifiers, which is why it's not recommended for use with wet clutches.

It really depends on filtration and if it's a diesel. Diesels I would change at 5000 due to soot (carbon) building in the oil, unless it has a bypass filtration system added, then 15-20k is possible...

That's funney. I do the same. Wiped the OEM cam on my BRM, which is common problem even with VW spec oil. Replaced the cam with FrankO6 cam kit, running T6 with ZDDP, no problems after 120K more...
