It wouldn't be $150 cheaper after you add the parallel kit and you would double the maintenance.
Post #139473143 added 08-09-2020 7:37 AM by coachclass in Deal Talk
Is a propane powered generator a lot more reliable? I'm imagining all my gasoline powered small engines and all the problems I've read onto in the spring. A gasoline powered generator seems like...

Yup . And a pain to fill 2 of them more frequently because of the smaller size fuel tanks.

Westinghouse is a brand that has been around for more than a century. It pretty much died out in the late 1900's at some point, and came back as re-branded products made in Korea and sold in places...

No it doesn't. It has two 120-Volt household power outlets (NEMA 5-20R) and one NEMA 120-Volt L5-30A.

The parallel cord does not support iGen4500.

This isn't dual fuel
Post #139461017 added 08-08-2020 3:01 PM by steeevo00 in Deal Talk
Yes I know. I've been waiting for the dual fuel to come back in stock. At this price it's hard not to get this one

I see it at 760 and in stock too.

The parallel kit has 240V plug.

Care to elaborate or just purely speculation on your part.
Post #139473287 added 08-09-2020 7:43 AM by beerguy419 in Deal Talk
Not really a lot of maintenance besides the occasional oil change, clean the air filter and new spark plug. It's my understanding that the propane ones use a lot of it. I guess if you can set it to...

So another words you have no personal factual evidence,. you're strictly operating on a hunch they're no good. Just wondering.
Post #139644911 added 08-15-2020 7:19 PM by hermancm in Deal Talk
Yeah I don’t see how you could get 240v from two out of phase generators. Sorry.

If you don't believe me, research it yourself. It's not hard. Also, check out the article that the user Behave posted. It says a lot about the Westinghouse name.

How does Firman compare to Westinghouse?...
Post #139473596 added 08-09-2020 7:56 AM by Tourist1292 in Deal Talk
It was $210 cheaper before the $60 cord.

Ok you win! I was just speaking from generalities, so I may go this double route myself. Do you reco any particular model to do such a thing? Wifi would be a plus :P.

It all depends what you're using it for. Two units can be used in two different places. They're lighter and easier to move around. It also gives you redundancy if one unit fails.

OP, seems the price has dropped further, to $782.47, if you want to update your post?
Post #139466336 added 08-08-2020 8:13 PM by bigo_oxes in Deal Talk
Dual would be quite nice, but I found it hard to pass up this at the price especially with a 3 year warranty.
Post #139460819 added 08-08-2020 2:52 PM by Tourist1292 in Deal Talk
It would have been $150 cheaper and more flexible if you got two of iGen2200 at Sam's club in the last week.
Post #139466765 added 08-08-2020 8:36 PM by pilotman00 in Deal Talk
Just wanted to add something that is relevant to me and might help you. Others have noted that two 2220s in parallel would be more flexible, and that's true if that's all the power you need. However,...

It dropped another $30. If I didn't just pick up the Wen 3800 watt inverter generator then I would have jumped on this one.
Post #139467446 added 08-08-2020 9:14 PM by InfamousDX in Deal Talk
Can you parallel this with the igen2200? Always wondered if you could parallel generators with different outputs.

Shows $760.00 on my end. http://www.amazon.com/Westinghouse-iGen4500-Portable-Inverter-Generator/dp/B06XC47ZX4/ref=sr_1_2?tag...
Post #139471256 added 08-09-2020 5:36 AM by downstat in Deal Talk
it’s this really worth $300 more than the WEN GN400i? some iffy reviews on the Westinghouse. $300 for cover, bigger tank, and quieter?
Post #139470320 added 08-09-2020 3:37 AM by rdshow in Deal Talk
It's back in stock @760.24
Post #139470326 added 08-09-2020 3:39 AM by madmax718 in Deal Talk
I must be the only one who sees it for 760 and in stock. ?
Post #139471667 added 08-09-2020 6:05 AM by Hat-Trick in Deal Talk
Westinghouse? I would not trust anything Westinghouse in a time of need.
Post #139473695 added 08-09-2020 7:59 AM by jimmyz in Deal Talk
I think reliability is the same. I just don't like storing gasoline and cleaning carburetors. Propane is simple and clean- I also use it for my grill, heat lamp and firepit. I get around 9-10 hours...

Where, I can't find that?
Post #139492298 added 08-10-2020 2:37 AM by beerguy419 in Deal Talk
The article you referenced from another poster is informative but doesn't say anything as to the quality of the brand. I think like most of these small portable generators they are made overseas in...
