If your sub, due to placement, has a "hump" (resonant frequency due to room acoustics), the avr will "see" that and turn the sub's trim down to compensate. Hopefully you've done the sub crawl already...

Most subs that have speakers level in/out jacks are simply a pass through and not a crossover for the main speakers so it's a non issue.

No, the jamo 112 is not comparable to this. I own two jamo 110's. They are the premium models that are "sisters" to the Klipsch 110/112/115 and the SPL models that people lust over. Lol.
