Have not used the built-in VPN capability, I do connect to some VPN servers over wifi via this router with no problmens, but running the client on the PC, not the router.

So I own one of these routers and I have been anxiously waiting for Walmart to have it back on the shelf. A little background, I own a small rural ISP with a fiber network in our Downtown. I had...

My advice is to never buy a Broadcom router. Their business model is security through obscurity. They never release anything to the public, they never will have open source. Dealing with the...

I had it on the first floor and I was getting good speed on the second floor on the other side of the house. Maybe a qc issue?

Have you tested with VPN, how's the speed with it?

I see. Yea I’m not surprised. Typically supports with these companies are terrible. I would have gotten rid of it just like you.

Did you disable reporting diagnostic info and automatic updates in the Linksys app? I wonder if those are the random server access you're seeing from the Velops.

TP stands for toilet paper. I emailed them for warranty help for a dead device. They told me to take it back to the store. I replied that it has been more than 3 months and they would not take it...

Can no longer recommend this brand. My very expensive AC 2300 verizon lost the 5 ghz band entirely after an update a few months back - yet still shows 100% functional in the interface and 5 ghz light...

The most ridiculous BS I have ever heard about Broadcom. Most Netgear routers are Broadcom-based, and updated frequently, and most DD-WRT builds are also for Broadcom-based routers.

This is the normal price. At least at Wal-Mart. If you need a router right now, it's great! If you want all the bells and whistles... It's probably not for you. Anyway, I got one for my aunt and I...

This is the worst-performing ax router out there. You are better off sticking with ac and getting an Archer C7 for less.

Amazon messed up on delivering a router so I ended up buying one of these a couple of months ago for a 2200 sq ft ranch home. It's been working flawlessly so far, with good signal strength

Thank you. I am not able to hard wire the AP’s. Any options without hard wiring ap’s but open source ?

This is a half-baked WIFI6 router. It does not have WPA3 for example. Wait for WIFI6E router. Of course if all you need is a decent budget router and don't care WIFI6 features, this router is fine.

My understanding is there are no broadcom chip routers with openwrt support so didn't bother looking at options. I would stay away from this unless you just want to try out a cheap option and hope...
