It's an IPS panel so it has better color reproduction. This is a great monitor for someone who is a photography or art hobbyist, but probably shouldn't be a top choice if you are a gamer.

Dell is IPS panel and it’s factory calibrated if I am not mistaken. Philips on the other hand is VA panel which is great for TVs.
