This motherboard support any 65W TDP Comet Lake CPU. Also, this doesn't have a Z series motherboard. So, overclocking is not possible even if yoi upgrade to a K series processor.

Is the mobo a standard form factor?
Post #139902695 added 08-26-2020 4:13 AM by phrodini in Deal Talk
that's the bad thing about these small cases. I was just thinking of getting a bigger case with good cooling and transferring everything over

I need to buy a good midrange PC for my wife for Chirstmas. All I really need is something that can handle photoshop, way too many chrome tabs being open at once, and that won't be painfully slow...

I am using a 6 year old Lenovo with i5-4xxx CPU, 8GB ram and 512GB SSD. Plenty fast for office and 1080p movies. In fact, I don't feel the need to buy a new pC.

Is that an actual form factor? Mini ITX? or Micro ATX?. Never seen Mini ATX

If you want a fast desktop that is easily upgradable, this is the best bang for your buck. A no brainer for this price.

Yup, returning mine and "downgrading" to the 2019 version for better upgradability. With the 2019s, you also gain USB3.2 Gen 2 10Gbps ports on the front vs the Gen 1 5Gbps in the 2020. The slight...

If you mean the Airplane Mode game where you are the passenger and not the pilot you might be able to. For the Microsoft Flight simulator you'd have to buy a new power supply and a current...

Anybody have any experience with Lenovo’s Legion 5 tower on Costco’s website?
Post #139911791 added 08-26-2020 10:46 AM by rutgersftw in Deal Talk
If Costco warranty and the ability to plug it in, see that it works, and install some games and be happy matter, that's a great deal. I think the 10700f and 32gb of ram cry out for a stronger card,...

Anyone think this might get a price cut as prices of PCs and components start to drop/get back to normal from covid? Or should I get this now?
Post #139880963 added 08-25-2020 9:04 AM by rutgersftw in Deal Talk
That's why I stressed a regular 1650 non-Super. It runs on bus power so no additional cable and NVidia's recommendation (300w) matches the stated PSU wattage of this Acer system. Even if its claimed...

Nah, this is overkill for office use. For office, just get a 5 year old pc from ebay for 200 bucks. Plenty of power

i5-10400 vs i7-8665U, which one is better/faster? Lenovo has ThinkCentre M90n Nano (i7-8665U, 16GB, 512GB SSD, W10Pro, USB-C, Model: 11ADS0BC00) for $579.

add a power supply and hope that it doesn't use a proprietary formfactor
Post #139879163 added 08-25-2020 7:55 AM by W0lverin3 in Deal Talk
So do these also have proprietary power supply and connectors like how HP desktops are ? I already have a 5600XT and it would definitely need higher than 300w

You'll see... Once the Nvidia 3000 series comes out. Game developers will up the ante so some games are ahead of the curve.

I hate prebuilts like this because they are very restrictive on what you can upgrade. The psu probably won't allow an upgrade of a GPU. Or at least not a very strong one. And it probably has a crappy...

Desktop has only about 300W PSU, meaning that if you wanted to add a mid or top tier GPU, you'd need to upgrade the PSU. This is actually kind of annoying. For ~$5 more (cost to them), the company...
