What do you use to drive your speakers? Maybe try using a different amp or dac. I have a pair of q100 and have been very happy with them.

The Elac UB5 (1st gen) is rated 4Ohm. Regular AV receivers may find it hard to handle. The KEF Q150 is not too picky on receivers/AMPs AFAIK
