Nuts and bolts that I might need over 150 ft-lbs for are usually easily accessible (axle nuts, strut to knuckle bolts, crank pulley, etc), so a finer ratchet is not really needed there

Not really. You'll be fine with the 25-250, then I'd consider a 1/4 dial style torque wrench that'll cover the inch lbs. Then you're set for most vehicles out there other than the HD stuff.
