This just simply isn't true, the recommendation at 100$ is the er2xr and the strafields. And higher (300$) you have jvc and blessings 2 and the er4xr in that competition.

ER4 is on the level of 535. 535 sounds better on ears and is mid-forward and has more bass, but ER4 packs with more details. Also ER4 is comparable to even headphones like Sennheiser HD650.
