ER4 is on the level of 535. 535 sounds better on ears and is mid-forward and has more bass, but ER4 packs with more details. Also ER4 is comparable to even headphones like Sennheiser HD650.

What worked out for me was slicing the first dome off of the large size tips. This keeps them from feeling like they’re poking too far into your ears - if that was your issue.
