No thermal capacity needed for pressing them flat. It's just for weight and strength. I don't believe you should cook with this.. you probably can though

I bought this and used it from the last deal. Works great. Good quality. For flour tortillas, plan on rolling it out a bit after pressing to get thin tortillas. For Corn, this works great.
