I have used Gran Crema and others from Lavazza in my Gaggia superautomatic. No issues at all. Medium roast in general is ok. It's the dark roasts that tend to be oily.

Bag I got in late August was roasted in the end of December of 2019. Have not tried it yet, but I found Lavazza beans fairly good for learning how to use my espresso machine.

It’s great for drip. Espresso roast is simply marketing to the US market. In Italy or France espresso is made from good quality medium roast coffee beans. There is no such thing as an espresso bean.
