Yes, although slightly less flexible because most folks would not want to leave a baking oven when they are away. However, reviews of the end dish are always superior by using a Dutch oven.

This is made in France. To this point, all of Le Creuset’s enameled cast iron is made in France.
A lot of their ceramics and stoneware are made in China, I believe. Not sure about their stainless...
