Dentist here. That's an old debunked theory. The bacteria are present in all spots. Your mouth is your mouth. It's not separate houses or something. I think 70s-80s when people stopped believing that.

My dentist said the same thing about Plackers. Don’t you think it spreads naturally with saliva anyway? I get it that if you remove a colony you don’t want to redeposit it that’s why I rinse.
