You can't season this because you do not apply heat to it. Use a gallon size Ziploc bag cut in half and if the masa is made correctly it won't stick. No oil is needed.

Because the top plate contacts the masa ball at an angle and pushes it toward the other side until it flattens out. If you start in the center your tortilla will run off the edge

I solved that problem by wrapping the plates with nonstick foil. Works better than shrink wrap or parchment paper...in fact I don’t even have to change it every time...a wipe cleans up any sticky...

Maybe you could use it for like smaller pita breads. For burrito tortillas, you'll probably wanna use a rolling pin or something to get the dough large and thin enough. I do highly recommend...

Closer to the hinge. Due to the angle, the dough will press and spread away from the hinge as you press. Placing the dough ball and inch or so toward the hinge will place the Tortilla nearly perfect...

Did you even read the instructions? Cut a sandwich zip lock bag and use a a square for each side. If you don't have zip lock bags use parchment paper or even clingwrap but nothing beats zip lock...
