Not really. It may thermal throttle during intense transfer like installing games or large file transfers. It won't damage the SSD and you'll never notice unless you are benchmarking. I have this...

get ubuntu on a flash drive and boot from that. then install DDrescue and use that to clone. its the best way to do it.

Or create a boot drive and reinstall Windows to this drive. It's a fairly simple process and you can keep all of your files. You will have to reinstall any apps and game clients.

You don't need additional cooler if your computer case has good cooling. You can also get the version with the heatsink which may provider more adequate cooling. Hope that helps.
