Coming from 35mm, it seems to me that lenses with 1:3.3 or 1:3.4 F-number are kind of slow (poor in low light). 1:2.0 or 1:1.8 normal lens was what I was used to in 35mm. Just curious. Thanks.

For your use case, I'd stay away from the Elph ones. You really want the zoom so it's between the 740 and 530. The 740 is really better for video where as the 530 will have around the same camera...
