I was loving the OMENs over the last few years but no numpad kills it for me.

I'm currently using a desktop that was initially built in 2011 or 2012. Phenom II 965, HD6850, 8 GB RAM and an older SSD. I haven't bought a game since Diablo III. The years as a stay at home dad of...

How does it compare to the MSI GL75 that is on sale at Costco? Is HP OMEN much better than MSI in most aspects? A bit concerned with only 8GB memory

There's no mux switch, so changing Optimus around will need to be done through software. Most reviewers have noted that the Omen 15 2020 has pretty good battery life. Jarrod's Tech rated it at 493...

Any thermal issues with this HP like in the past?
Post #140595920 added 09-22-2020 9:34 PM by MisterLeon in Deal Talk
Nope! A lot of reviewers have stated that it has some of the best thermals for gaming laptops.

Indeed it does, but I'm not 100% sure it works on open box items. I've heard conflicting reports that Citibank doesn't cover "used" items. However, the Citibank site says it covers "Purchases made...

This is the way to go. Save $150 and use it on RAM and storage upgrades. For the same price as new, you end up with 16GB RAM and 1TB + 512GB SSD.

Legion is a better option. 8 Gb more. This one has a pretty bad keyboard. Very flimsy and weird layout. Also the sharp edge on the palmrest is a pain to use. The Legion tho is a bit heavier. This one...

No, I'm not 100% sure Citibank Visa will extend the warranty. The Citi website says: What's Covered: Purchases made with your Citi card that come with a manufacturer's warranty. What's Not...

I have in the past ordered Certified. Had fingerprints and scratches (Speakers). Its a gamble, might as well go for the cheaper gamble.

Is it possible to run just the integrated graphics on these laptops to save battery life during office work? Or is there a driver conflict since you’d have to install both?

I don't think there is a distinction.... Between new and opened box. But there is a distinction between new/open box and refurbished

Now it's harder to decide whether to pick up this Omen or the Lenovo Legion on amazon for 999. The Omen only comes with 8gb, but easy enough to pick up another one.

I hate number pads. They take away extra space that can otherwise make the keyboard more spacious.. why do you need the numberpad?
Post #140584292 added 09-22-2020 1:37 PM by Conjure in Deal Talk
Agreed. I think the Legion deal is a better buy here.
Post #140585564 added 09-22-2020 2:20 PM by ChrisL17 in Deal Talk
15.6" laptop with no number pad is a deal breaker.
