The optics may be better in bright outdoor settings, but negligible if any. The phone should do as good or better in most scenarios. The camera is worthwhile if you need the zoom.

XJ49WS7 does still give 10% off, but only on some of the models like the elph 190. but it doesnt appear to be working on the 530 or 740 which were deeper discounts.
