I just went from a 950pro to a 970 evo plus. HOLY COW! I’m still in the process of re-installing from scratch but the initial benchmarks and install process have been crazy fast.

You're comparing ps5 to a drive that is almost 2 years old. You need a nvme with pcie 4 or higher since if you want the speed.

Much slower than the PS5. Look at the specs of the new Samsung 980 and the Xbox Series X proprietary storage cards, and then imagine a couple ticks faster.

Only the Samsung 980 Pro ($229 1TB) which is 7gbps, Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus (over $200 for 1TB) which is 7gbps or ADATA S70 (over $200 for 1TB) which is 7.4gbps will be as good or better than the PS5...

You'd want a bare drive and to get one of those cheap copper plate NVMe heatsinks, and maybe a thermal pad to transfer heat to the casing, anyways. Note: this is double-sided, so it may be thicker...
