Ouch :( "This does not fit your 1997 Hyundai Elantra"

This fits most Honda’s. Thanks, ordered one. The 2-4 week delivery window is not a problem for me. I run this filter for two oil changes since the Maintenance Minder says to change the filter...

filters will get dirty. they filter particles. That's what they do. but does it impact performance? why change at 5k miles? why not at 3k miles?

Not what I said or meant.... This is what I said, "and the cost of a new oil filter with every oil change begins to look a lot more like extremely cheap insurance." That statement was in...

The A or B code will be displayed by the MM, so the manual won’t tell you when you will get the code. Most people and dealers will change the filter every change. There’s no problem with that. I...

Really? If that’s the case you probably have an underlying issue. There have been used oil reports posted to public forums showing no abnormal solids or engine wear in the oil after 2x oil...

http://fumotousa.com/ I leave a short hose attached to the valve so I don't have to attached one each time. Less of a mess too. The hose has been attached to it on my 4Runner for 3 years no issues.

No longer offering the S&S option...deal is dead. This filter is cheaper than the $8.20 at my local Rural King, I want to say $6.99 the last time I bought it there.

Apparently. It’s rated for 20k miles it says on Amazon, but If someone seriously goes that long they’re an idiot.

Unlike the more common cellulose and cellulose blend media elements, Ultra full synthetic media, thus can be recommended and easily run for longer intervals. I've run an XG7317 two intervals over two...

Yea, I've been using it for a better part of 15+ years. Its a drain plug replacement with a ballcock valve so you don't need to open the plug with any wrenches and simply prevents a lot of stripping;...

The way I think of these 15k-20k filters is if the manufacturer of my car recommends oil changes every 10k miles then I would extend that interval to every 12k maybe 13k with these type of filters....

I change the filter each time to drain as much oil as possible. Also, there's no way to know if the filter gets full and starts bypassing all the time (no filtration).

No underlying causes. If you find an oil filter that has gone 20k miles and has nothing in it I’d dare question the filtration on the filter. It’s like I said, why would you ever be so cheap to not...

Then you fall into what I said which is if the manufacturer says it’s ok then fine. Most do not. Either way my filter always has and always will be changed every oil change. If the rest of you want...

People make silly assumptions and still believe the old wives tale to replace engine oil at 3,000 miles. Unless you are driving in harsh conditions; in extreme weather; in dirt or off...

Open your filter up. After 5-6k miles it will be dirty and I can’t imagine 20k miles. People are just cheap and an oil filter cost so little just change it. There’s zero reason to save $8 to protect...

Your oil guy is very very wrong, cheap frams are junk, this one in particular is one of the best built filters on the market hands down.

lol. engine oil as insurance?

I won't buy Fram if they continue to sell the junk filter. A company that sells a bad one and a good one simply is not to be trusted.

Same price now at WM, $8.20. WM 2 pack free ship requires $35 threshold, no go for me. Would have grabbed a couple from Amazon at ~$7. Only Fram filter I will use. Sorry I missed Amazon S&S.

Wait, what makes $8 for an oil filter a good deal? The word “synthetic?”

Not a trusted oil filter brand. Lots of better brands says the oil guy.

Fram Ultra absolutely is. It's one of the better filters you can get, especially for the price.
