I would buy this, but then, I'd feel like a sucker for buying an Intel CPU these days.

Some day people will smile when they get "the AMD rig" at the office. Till then intel buyers are not suckers.

1080Ti is still the best bang for your buck if the 3000 series is too much. It handles Ultra settings 1440p/144hz with little exception.

Yes they will. But only if u bring it up. They have like 7-days or so. I don't like Newegg only bc they can't cancel an order after an hour order. So I don't deal with them anymore.

Microsoft Flight Simulator seems to be maxing out the CPU before the GPU on my 1070Ti card. Upgraded from a i5 4590, which was a solid CPU for years. Flight Sim 2020 was the first game it couldn't...

I just ended up spending $1100 on a new build excluding the graphics card. I was lucky and got one of the EVGA 3080s from Amazon, but with no ship date. Thanks for breaking my wallet.

10700k is 3 years newer, more cores, more threads. Better in all ways essentially. I own the 8700K and it's still a good processor, but if I was building now I'd go with 10700K all day

This is the fastest CPU (other than 10900k/10850k) to run office applications, like large excel file. The closest one from ryzen is 3900x which is more expensive and does not have a iGPU.

Who is buying this CPU and not building with a GPU? Legitimately curious as to what uses/applications would require this much CPU.

The issue was already worked out by EVGA. None of their production cards were shipped out with issues cause they identified it and made the changes, thus the delay on the FTW3 cards.

Intel is lagging on the PCIe 4.0 side of things. I would absolutely hold off any purchase to make sure you're getting this very fundamental piece to the puzzle.
