I have an officejet Pro 9018 50 pages is $2.99 100 pages ois $4.99
On the surface looks like a bait and switch tactic however i'm sure they have some fine print in there they may discontinue or change it any time. Pretty much they sign up a a few million people on...
Received a similar email today. Seems like HP is discontinuing their free tier of Instant Ink subscription starting beginning of December. It was a good deal while it lasted. ...

I was wondering how long this would last.

I've received the email On HP instant ink website, you still have free plan option Can I cancel and sign up again?

The way I understand is you cannot use the ink provided through the plan once the Instant Ink plan is cancelled, but you should be fine using your own ink.
Cancelled, never even installed their special ink. Just using my printer as a scanner and backup printer.

they should grandfather already existing free subscriptions
Update 12/15: Existing users of the free plan are now grandfathered into the free plan for the life of the printer! "We previously notified you that the plan for your OfficeJet 3830 would be...
The HP Instant Ink 15 pages/month free plan is going away, just got this via email: On December 03, 2020, your 15 page plan will automatically convert to the 15 page plan shown below and you will...
same! on the plan page I am still on the $0 plan and I see the 99 cents plan which is separate :)
I have not received any email. So does that mean my plan will continue to be free?

I think a class action lawsuit will go to HP for this.
Looked up for hp instant ink but only past deals for printers poped up

You've been on here for a decade, you should know personally & from all the reposts that happen that SD search SUCKS BAD! Better to google than use SD direct search. I love putting things about the...
It’s official :) We previously notified you that the plan for your OfficeJet 3830 would be changing, but as a valued customer, you can now continue printing up to 15 pages/month at no charge for...

$1 is still reasonable for low printing needs esp since rollover is now 45 pages for sudden big bursts of printing. unfortunately this is just going to be a slippery slope for HP once they start...
Got the email too. I went over one month on the starter cartridge... I should have never enrolled in instant ink, what a scam. Ended up giving HP an extra buck and my usage data.
Mmm better for you, the backbone of american corporations 🤦 ♂️

You forgot to close out with, "I'm here all week. Don't forget to tip your waitress. Try the Veal, I heard it's great!"
Any of you on the free plan that has not received this email yet? I've been using this for about one year, it's strange that I wasn't alerted yet. I also logged into my Instant Ink account and...
I’m just going to keep it on the 99 cent plan that it will move to. Up to 45 pages can roll over and that’s $12 per year. Seems reasonable to me since I have a laser for most printing. It was a good...

Just received an email from HP instant ink that the free monthly plan (15 pages/month) will be converted to a paid plan ($0.99/month for 15 pages) at the end of this year. I don’t know if that’s for...

But what if you cancelled the free plan before today, will you be able to get it back?
Post #143856359 added 12-17-2020 2:53 AM by KingUltra in Consumer Awareness
I cancelled my free Plan on the Dec 13. Dec 17 was the end of the billing cycle, so I was able to reenroll on Dec 15 and everything looks the same. On another account, I was offered 3 free months...

The internet useage reporting will catch up to you? You can run it offline, but as soon as it phones home-your useage is all going to be reported for that date I believe. To save $2? You're way more...

Nope. They are sending the emails based on your next monthly closing date. It seems that free plans that are renewed after Dec. 1st will be subject to charge. And HP has a 60 days prior announcement...

Although I am disappointed in this too (as some months I don't even print anything), are there any better option for having access to low-cost, low-volume, on-demand printing? I figure any...

maybe the demand for free ink all dried up
It also seems like new plans pricing is adjusted for your particular printer model - my cheapest plan will be $0.99/month compared to $1.25 on screenshot above. I have Envy 4520 printer.

I am confused. So can you cancel the plan and still use the printer as a regular printer then just buy ink when you have to.

Yeah. I got in about a year ago. The timing was perfect, since I was in the market for ink for my thrift store printer. Now I'm debating whether to just cave and stay on it (since $12 a year is...

You are also required to return the "instant ink." Not sure if they will follow through and charge you if you don't.

Thanks for the update, haven't received the email yet. I probably end up paying $1 or $2 for extra pages every other month or so, this still works out well for me.
