Well, let's look back at the PSP memory cards, 360 HD-DVD, Switch Docks. All of these were expensive when they came out and did not sell at launch. Switch Docks have done better than the rest but...

All the more reason to stick with PC gaming. And they say it's more expensive.

Absolutely all valid points. This is mostly meant for those that will buy right now, why not save a few bucks.

Why on earth would you ever buy this with the intention of shucking it? There are better, cheaper options out there that wouldn't even require shucking. The only reason to even consider picking this...

For those complaining about the price , there is no PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD for much less than this. This is a high end SSD hence the price. And yes it’s proprietary so it’s like $20 to $30 more than a...

This is definitely the play. Pick up a 1TB SSD for $100 and reserve the internal SSD for Series X games. People need to remember that this is the start of a new generation. The first-year libary is...

This seems like something that will tank in price through third party manufacturers relatively quickly. I already feel stupid paying a premium for a new system without any games I can't already play...

I would encourage you to look at it this way. With any new project you can have two of time, cost or quality, but never all three. Microsoft was able to provide a blazigly fast and simple (quality)...

So a drive expansion costs almost as much as an entire Switch console when not on sale.

I wanna agree with you as an Xbox fan (I also buy the PlayStation every generation, so step back Sony bois ;P) but you've never been able to replace the Xbox's built-in storage, even when it used...

You might want to re-read my post. I said you CANNOT play the games directly off the drive. But, you CAN hold the full game data on the drive. Just move it to the main drive, and you are set.

Just read it again. Its still false, as you CAN play games directly off the drive.

I don't think you are getting it... You CAN play new gen Xbox games off of this proprietary expansion card, you CANNOT play new gen Xbox games directly off an external USB storage drive. There is...

It literally does make a different in gameplay. You are trying to downplay it because you don’t understand how the SSD is being used. Its not 1-2 second faster loads (compared to what? Ps4?), as you...

Sony has said that the list would most likely come after the console launch (due to very few drives being compatible) WD did just announce an ssd with speeds greater than the ps5's so they should be...

A tad too expensive for a game storage for xbox only. No other usage besides storing game for 200 dollars.

While this device is expensive, this is a good deal for a new product. Thanks and great job on first post!

Other than the casing for this pack though, NVME SSD drives that are 1TB can be had for $100 - $150. Most under $120. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=NVME+SSD+1TB&ref=nb_sb_noss_2 This is like Sony...

Post #141013289 added 10-09-2020 11:15 AM by ThatOneGuyWho1 in Deal Talk
That was the same case with the PSP. About 3 months after release people found out how to use the memory sticks on other devices. Still doesn't take away that they are made to be limited.

This ^^^ There's really not much for actual Series X games out there yet. Most everyone will be playing their existing games. I've already got my higher-need games on an external SSD on my X1X,...

There is a difference between necessity and a good deal. This is a good deal. This is definitely not a necessity. Don’t trash it because you don’t need it.

Ok, except there is only 1 drive in my link for $160 and it's on sale. Point is that the PS5 uses a SSD that runs 5 gb/sec which means the ones I linked are the ones that will be required for...

I mean yeah this stuff is expensive but this drive is expensive and half the speed of other drives you can use on the non proprietary PS5. It’s laughable

I understand your point, completely. And agree. There seem to be people in here trying to out-video-game-nerd each other. I'm sure people will be arguing and explaining how Gamepass works to...
