I would say the yamaha or JBL sub models are not worth comparing with the monolith. To keep it below $1000, I suggest getting the monolith 12 inch ported for $799 now or wait for their next sale.

He’s probably used to the massive peak in frequency response at 50hz most of these are tuned for. Sure it sounded “louder” but louder does not equal better.

SVS killer?? Doubt it. I personally would add $800 and get the SVS PB 16 Ultra sub over this. Just saying, if your okay spending $1,200, $2,000 isn’t a stretch for top of line SVS.
