When I click on Style I see that the Special Edition is 34.99 but when I select it I see the price is 49.71.

That's the point. Locked it's incredibly precise, since it has clear stops. Unlocked is meant for scrolling through entire documents and such.

Interesting, that has not been my experience. When locked, the wheel only moves in pre-defined increments. When unlocked, mine tends to have enough inertia that it keeps spinning for a little bit...
