Depends on the quality of the surround. I have a pair of Corsair 7.1's that are phenomenal for directional sound in games, couldn't go back to stereo only.

I think you have these confused with another model. These don't come with the usb audio amp. Many other HyperX headphones will be much better but they also cost much more.
