Very worthy. Might be overkill depending on usage and GPU. If you game and have less than a 2070, buy the 9700k and put the extra $100 into a 2070 super or 3070/80 or what have you.

Don't think you can since they changed electrical contacts from 8xxx to 9xxx CPUs. It's still the same LGA 1151 but electrically different.
