From what I understand, the $199 price is not necessarily the retail price, it was the same price as the Kickstarter campaign but I think it could go up.

ATSC 3.0 is not backwards compatible. It’s a different tuner altogether. Stations can broadcast in both standards, but the tuners are separate.

ATSC 3.0 streams can be up to 57 Mbps, while 1.0 streams are 19 Mbps. Without gigabit you may have trouble with more than one stream at a time.
