Just picked up a couple two-packs. HD Tune benchmarks shows: 27MB/s read and 6MB/s write, which is consistent with ad-hoc file transfer measurements. Fairly standard for a cheap USB 2.0 flash drive.

Bootable media is still a very big thing, it doesn't need usb 3. Being able to just give someone a flash drive with files on it and say "Keep it" because its literally .50c is nice. USB 2 and USB 3...
