I believe it may be the monitor. Much like the comments above, my monitor is showing dark spots in the top right of the screen. I think I'll be returning mine as well.

the pixel density will be pretty much the same, so no, but if your monitor is the same distance away at least you will get more screen real estate at the same pixel density, so yes.

Mac’s have typically mini display ports and thunderbolt ports. So out of the box this will not be compatible. But an adapter could fix that.
