My mistake, the comparison I read was about the r440(that I use) and the r52c. The rp version may be better, but the smaller speakers generally have more trouble getting to lower frequencies.

and I dont think yamaha uses audessy, thank god. audessy tinkers with frequency response and phase delays in ways that always results in a result worse than just running a manual setup.

I would save a little more and buy matching L&R speakers to go with the center for a matching front stage. I did that, had Klipsch RCL and polk rears for a while, and it worked well.
