It's Subaru OEM. Japanese brand entering the US Market. Apparently came in stock a year ago and cashier said only 2 people bought it in that time. Likely because as you said, they've never seen it....

If you're running a modern, overhead cam gasoline engine on 40-50, you won't be doing it very long.

A different Autozone near me only carried this brand's automatic transmission fluid, but not the motor oil. Other nearby carried both. So, could be regional.
