Visible is a division of verizon prepaid. Phone is not locked to the network though. Although to receive the gift card you have to be on the network for 2 billing cycles.

as others said, you need to chat with Visible to get the email code pushed to you after activation. Annoying but it took 1 minute to chat and get the code from them
