Per John 199999's post, Nvidia seems to treat these monitors hooked up by HDMI as a TV and sends a watered down RGB range, which is responsible for the washed out color. I was dealing with it too....

Apple does NOT support MST. Dell docks, even with DisplayLink will not output extended desktop to dual monitors. The MacBook will mirror the desktop. It’s really annoying.

Aoc is bad... they are so cheap and flimsy my air purifier would move the screen. It’s possible mine was defective I can’t even believe how sorry the monitor was before I returned it.
