Even with Costco & Citi's 4 years warranty, should I or shouldn't I? I actually ordered the I5 from Costco last night, debating if I should spend an additional $150 for the newest model. Thank you.

It's an article yes. But it's referencing Geekbench for the numbers. It's easy to just dismiss a site w/o bothering to even skim it.

1. MBP M1 256GB SSD 16GB RAM for $1400 from Apple Edu 2. MBP M1 512GB SSD 8GB RAM for $1450 from Costco + Costco warranty I think option 1 might be the better choice. You can always use an...

Let's try to be civil here - we don't need smart aleck remarks. He was just trying to describe something that is based on what Apple had reported - in the past, the performance has been consistent...

Would running a virtual machine such as VMWare be incompatible as well? Won’t be picking up one but can’t wait until a couple years when the ecosystem has matured 😃

The point is they sugarcoat it and puts positive vibes as in if it's very bad, they say it's average . If it's average, they say it's the best. It's a fan site, anything taken from there not worth...

Agree about 8gb ram but did you look at the benchmarks? It BLOWS Intel chips out of the water specifically on single and multi core benchmarks. We don’t have any other kind available yet.

I believe this is just one benchmark. And it is heavily weighted towards memory access. So take it with a grain of salt. This chip runs at 3.x ghz. Modern x86 can crack 5ghz. I am guessing arm won't...

Read the small print. The one benchmark they ran is heavily influenced by memory latency which is one place the M1 will shine due to the architecture and how the ram is packaged. This won't translate...

I disagree with above, 8GB is just not enough. Adding storage space is easy and cheap with an external drive. The Costco Concierge Warranty is nice, but it really is more of just a Helpline and...

Same. I'm returning mine. I never actually opened it, suspecting this would happen. I do hope Costco gets a 16gb model in stock. I'm flexible on HDD space but not RAM.
